Hello!
Since I haven't really written many beauty posts recently, I thought I could write out my everyday makeup routine, either to inspire you or fulfil your curious nature. All products will be linked below.
1. Normally, I start off splashing my face with cold water to open up my pores and wake me up, because at this point I'm still half asleep.
2. After drying my face, I'll squeeze a 5 pence piece sized blob of my Simple Kind to Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion onto a cotton pad, and apply it evenly to my face and neck. I'll then follow this up by applying the Simply Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner in the same way. Thirdly, I'll finish off with the Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser. This helps keep my face clean and hydrated throughout the day, and fully removes any leftover makeup.
3. This is promptly followed by Miss Sporty Liquid Concealer. Since I don't use foundation, I often use lots of concealer to cover up all my redness and blemishes, therefore a fairly low priced one is a great deal for me. Not only that, but this is basically the only brand that sells my colour, as my skin is a rather weird colour. Normally, I put this on any spots I have, a light coating on my t-zone, around my nostrils and down the bridge of my nose, on my eyelids as a light primer and in downwards strokes a little above my dark circles. I will then blend all of this in with my ring finger as it melts the concealer, giving it a smoother application.
4. Next, I'll move onto eyebrows. Unlike most people I know, I don't really spend too much time on my eyebrows; I simply pluck any stray hairs and brush upwards with MUA clear mascara, then smooth over the top to shape. This sets them for the entire day and provides an effortless look.
5. This next part is the most lengthy out of my routine; eyeliner. Using my Primark P.S Love Felt Eyeliner, I draw a basic outline along my eyelid, ensuring both eyes match as much as possible. Then, whilst looking downwards, I draw a line outwards from the end of the outline I made previously. Once satisfied I join it up the corner of my eye and colour it in. I then do the same with the other eye. This often takes a few attempts to match them Rimmel Rockin; Curves Mascarato my satisfaction, but I really do love the outcome.
6. Following eyeliner is mascara, of which I actually use three of after curling my lashes: MUA Lash Boom mascara to even out my lashes and brush out eyeliner clumps etc., Maybelline Volum' Express Turbo-Boost to start off my lashes with a bit of length, and Rimmel London Rockin' Curves Mascara for the majority of the time I dedicate to my lashes. As I mentioned in my July Favourites, this is the perfect drugstore mascara for both long and volumised lashes.
7. Lastly, I'll clean up any smudges, spray my face with a Heaven and Earth Cleansing Face Toner to keep my makeup in place and voila! I'm done!
Since I'm going on holiday (again, not that I'm complaining) on Monday, it's likely that this will be my last post until after I'm back from eating lots of food and reading by the pool.
Welcome to my Paper Life.
